I recently resuscitated my Netflix membership. I took some time off from it for about six months until I had an epiphany.
You see, (as many of you know) I don't really watch television. I'm not anti television. (I make this defensive statement often, I know.) I can rack up what I have seen in 2008 quite easily: The Barack/Hillary debates, the Academy Awards, and news the day of the NIU shooting. That's it.
So back to the epiphany. It hit me that I could utilize Netflix for all of the good t.v. that I am missing. So what's in the queue these days you ask?
Yes, I know what I've been missing, and I adore this show. I'm not that far out of the loop, I just don't have cable.
I saw the pilot and two episodes. Now I can find out where things end up Season 1, and with the writer's strike over, I may just catch up.
Back in 1981 I used to make ridiculous excuses every Tuesday evening to get out of pit orchestra rehearsal (for our all school musical Oklahoma) early, so that I could rush home to catch this. With the movie coming out this summer, I need a refresher.
Don't even get me started about Nip/Tuck, The Best of the Colbert Report, or the scores of other worthy television programs. I'm just happy I finally figured this out for myself.
